No Pork belly experience is complete without a dipping sauce. It’s time to upgrade it with this easy-peasy Doenjang Dipping Sauce! Just grab ½ cup of Doenjang from the Korean or Asian store – it’s that fermented soybean paste that brings out the magic.

Chop up a green onion and mince a garlic clove. Toss them in. Add 2 tsp of honey or agave syrup for sweetness, and 1 tbsp of sesame oil for that nutty kick. Round it off with 2 tbsp of soy sauce.

Mix everything up and there you have it – your go-to dipping sauce for pork belly. No fuss, all flavor. Dip and enjoy!

What on earth is Doenjang?

Doenjang is a culinary cornerstone of Korean cuisine and is a flavorful fermented soybean paste that has stood the test of time. Crafted through a traditional fermentation process, Doenjang offers a robust umami profile that adds depth and richness to a variety of dishes. Its distinct flavor develops over time, ranging from mildly sweet and nutty when young, to deeply savory and complex as it matures.

Often likened to the heart and soul of Korean cooking, Doenjang not only serves as a base for soups, stews, and sauces but also brings a unique cultural and historical significance to the table. Whether used as a marinade, seasoning, or dip, Doenjang imparts a truly authentic taste of Korea.
